1. How will film capacitors be damaged?
Due to reasons such as raw materials and manufacturing processes, the early damage of film capacitors is mostly due to manufacturing reasons. Because there may be impurities in the dielectric during the manufacturing process, mechanical damage, pinholes, low cleanliness, etc., it will cause over-voltage, over-current, and surrounding high and low temperatures. These problems will cause the thin film capacitor to weaken the dielectric or even cause it to break down. Sparks are usually generated during breakdown, which further expands the range, thus forming a multi-layer short circuit or even a short circuit of the entire component.
2. How to choose film capacitors for car use?
1) The choice of capacity is based on the power of the power amplifier. The capacity selection range of the power amplifier is generally 50,000 microfarads, 100,000 microfarads, 500,000 microfarads, 1 farad and 1.5 farads. For higher-power car audio systems, multiple film capacitors are generally selected in parallel.
2) In the choice of use of film capacitors, small farads and large farads can be used to make the equivalent internal resistance smaller.
3) Choose film capacitor with a smaller internal effective resistance. The working voltage should be above 25 volts, and the working temperature should not be lower than 85°C. You can choose film capacitors based on the above, but also choose film capacitors produced by regular manufacturers, such as Dongguan Zhixu Electronic (JEC) film capacitors, which are of good quality, high temperature resistance, and internationally certified!
