Introduction of Common Electronic Components

re are some common electronic components in the electronics industry, such as safety capacitors, film capacitors, varistors, etc. This article will briefly introduce the characteristics and applications of five common electronic components (super capacitors, film capacitors, safety capacitors, thermistors, and varistors).

Super Capacitor
Supercapacitors have the advantages of fast charging speed, long working time, good ultra-low temperature characteristics, being able to work at -40°C~+70°C, maintenance-free, green and environmental protection, and are widely used in high current, data backup, hybrid vehicles and other fields.

Film Capacitors
Film capacitors have the characteristics of non-polarity, high insulation resistance, excellent frequency characteristics, and low dielectric loss. They are mainly used in electronics, home appliances, communications, electric power and other fields.

Safety Capacitor
Safety capacitors are divided into safety X capacitors and safety Y capacitors. They have the characteristics of small size, high reliability, high withstand voltage, low loss, etc. Safety capacitors suppress power electromagnetic interference and are used for filtering, bypassing circuits. They are also suitable for power supply, household appliances, communication equipment and other applications.

Thermistor
Thermistor has the advantages of high sensitivity, wide working temperature range, small size, and can measure the temperature of voids, cavities and blood vessels in the body that cannot be measured by other thermometers. It is small in size and easy to produce. As an electronic circuit component, thermistor can be used for instrument line temperature compensation and thermocouple compensation and thermocouple cold junction temperature compensation, etc.

Varistor
The varistor and the safety Y capacitor look similar in appearance, but the two are completely different electronic components. As a nonlinear voltage limiting element, the varistor performs voltage clamping when the circuit is subjected to overvoltage, and absorbs excess current to protect sensitive devices. Varistors have the advantages of low leakage current, fast response time, small size, large energy, and large peak current, and can be used in power supply systems, surge suppressors, security systems and other fields.
